The Funbuggy [FB] up until very recently is something you would have probably expected to see, only on the Discovery Channel trundling weightlessly across the surface of the moon, but this is the benchmark of a new wave of vehicles poised to sweep across Europe. Whilst our twin seated super-lightweight Funbuggies are now street legal, they are certainly much more at home and capable off road, this is where the FB progresses from the merely thrilling to the sublime!
The FB’s roots can be traced back to the classic Californian dune or beach buggies of the sixties. Lighter, more compact and nimbler than their predecessors, Japanese technology has simplified the engine, transmission and suspension into a package that’s practical, desirable whilst relatively easy to maintain.
Call them squat looking, even pugnacious and oozing with mischief, its only when you’re sitting behind the wheel of a FB that you fully understand their appeal. They are remarkably easy to drive with a fully automatic gearbox known as, CVT (continuous variable transmission). If you can drive a car, you can certainly drive a FB. So where else could this be more fun than Sunny Cyprus with the Akamas Peninsular’s (Cypriot National Park) terrain is the perfect test for man and machine!!!!
